May 2020- Week Ending 10th

Just to provide all members with an update on the progress with the on-line Microsoft Teams system.

To date 14 members have managed to use the facility with a good degree of success. Hopefully over the next day or so we will manage to get the remainder on board.

As stated a meeting of the club will take place on Thursday the 14th of May at 7.30pm through the on-line facility, kindly facilitated by Gary. It is essential that we have the appropriate / accurate email contact detail for all members. Please forward by reply the address preferred.

This is an opportunity to meet and discuss projects and general issues of planning for members. To start the process we can use the recent pdi images on the theme of yellow as a basis for conversation.

As we progress there are matters that need to be agreed in compliance with the club constitution, specifically AGM, and, the need to continue with work on this years project.

These are very challenging times for us all and the need to remain in contact and focused is now more important than ever. This is your club and to date we have achieved some very significant outcomes, let’s grab this opportunity to make sure it continues.

13/05

This Thursday the 14th of May at 7.30pm  is the first of our full online meeting of the club. It follows our ongoing development of the process using Microsoft Teams software, our thanks to Gary for facilitating these sessions to enable members to become familiar with this virtual package. There are a few points that members should be aware of when using the app for communication. There is a need for the device used to be held or set steady, this is to avoid camera shake which can be a little distracting to the other team members when viewing multiple images. The system works on a variety of equipment PC, Mac, iPad, iPhone and Android.

As explained in the course of the presentations, the technology is quite basic to use and the more we use this alternative, the more familiar we all be in using the application. This is your new club forum for the foreseeable future, a lot of time and effort have been applied to make it work and we welcome your patients and support, essential to make it work.

The first meeting will include the showing of images and feedback from the recent themed competition. In the course of the next few weeks and months it will be necessary for  other aspects of club business to be conducted using this forum. If you have any points relevant to the club activities this is your opportunity to put them to the members.

On a related point, we have been contacted by  Gráinne Reilly Artistic Programme and Events Manager Féile an Phobail to confirm this years event will be run on a virtual forum and as agreed our exhibition will feature as part of that forum.

See you all online tomorrow evening as  planned.
